We are glad you visited our educational page of the 350th web site. We hope you are joining in the celebration of the “Birth of North Carolina” with your students. As I am sure you know, in 1668 four precincts were created out of the Albemarle. These four precincts, Currituck, Pasqutank, Perquiman, and Chowan later became the first counties of North Carolina. Out of these counties came all the 16 counties of Northeastern North Carolina.
On this educational page you will find instruction on how to use the 350th Passport booklets which is to be given out to all 4th and 8th graders in the 16 county region. You will also find ideas to use in your classroom. On other parts of the web site you will find maps and images to help you bring this story to your students.
Please contact us if we can be of any assistance. We would be glad to provide you with a speaker or information. We do hope you will encourage your students to use the Passport Booklet and enter the drawing for a tablet.
